Yes lots of times. I have even made it myself, here is a recipie.
First I boil the octopus for long enough that the purple skin can come off. In the water I add a little garlic, olive oil, and lemmon juice. (Whe the octopus is ready I clean it and cut the tentacles off) then marinate in the same oil, garlic lemmon mix for a couple of hours. Then it is ready to be bbq’d. It needs only a minute or so for each tenatle and using hot embers only (not flames!!).
