Chris, mate: you’re living on the wrong side of the border!

Apparently there’s evidence that quinine (an old drug used to treat malaria and also found as a flavouring in Irn Bru, as well as indian tonic water) could be beneficial in some leukaemias.

Get out of town! That’s amazing. Oh, it’s in the daily record….. Must be true then lol.
Quinine is also used for cramps- do irn bru drinkers suffer from them?
Is it because irn bru is made from girders????

The work was done at the University of Glasgow, they wouldn’t make it up! How much tartrazine you would be guzzling to get a decent amount of quinine, though, I shudder to think!

Apparently Irn Bru keep their ingredients a secret – if you spill it on your clothes you have to contact them to get a special spill removal kit!
