How do you think you might go about investigating this?

An easy way is to get a single helium balloon and tie weights to the string, to see what the maximum weight is that it can lift up into the air. Once you know this weight, you can work out how many times heavier you are than that weight, so your weight (kg) divided by the weight a single balloon lifts off the ground.

Whatever that number is will be the number of balloons that you will need – I’d imagine it’ll be quite a few!

You could definitely use Jim’s method to try and work out how many balloons it would take to lift you but in order to fly you would also need something to push you forwards without bursting the balloons!

      I think I’ll stick to aeroplanes 😉
