I have no idea! You want a cosmologist for that one!

From my flimsy understanding of quantum mechanics, the physics say that universe is shaped like a doughnut, and that means that in all directions it eventually comes back to itself. This is open to interpretation though, some people say that the universe takes up finite space and so has a boundry – what’s beyond that? Some people say that our universe is like a brane (a sheet, not a brain) floating about in a bigger mega-universe, some people think that our universe is an illusion, some poeple think… well loads of things – what do you think?

These things make my head hurt! I can’t understand how something can be completely cyclical and never had a beginning and an end… but where’s the start and end of a circle? Without a conscious person to DECIDE where it is… is there one? These are all philosophical questions that I have absolutely no idea to answer, and if I’m honest, I’m not sure ANYONE can fully agree hahaha, so I guess you can make up your own mind!

The true answer is nobody knows for sure, i would love to find out, but we know its bigger than can be travelled to in a lifetime. It certainly goes on for as far as our best telescopes can see.

I’m afraid my mind blanks out at thinking of the beginnings and ends of universes! I do wonder though what the dominant life form on earth will be when it does end and whether any of my descendents will be there.
