• Question: Can we essentially run out of energy, I know that it is always just transformed but could we reach a point when the demand for energy is greater than the supply?

I don’t think it is possible to run out of energy. While cheap and easy energy like fossil fuels by become scarce, there are many other options available. The sun has enough fuel for another 5 billion years, and when that runs out there are other stars still producing energy.

As you say, the energy is converted so it can’t run out.

As Sean, says we will certainly run out of fossil fuels in the not too distant future. We will then have to rely on other energy sources. We are investing in those now but we should invest more. I think we should put our hope in nuclear fusion as it is clean, plentiful (the fuel is water) and very efficient. We’ve not yet been able to get to grips with it but there are a number of projects working on this now.
