My mum and dad were both Christian and my Brother is a Baptist minister in a Church! I don’t really have a religion however as I find it difficult to believe in something without evidence enough to convince me. I do believe that it is important to be a good person and that all religions are a good guide in doing that…but I don’t think you need to have a religion to be a good person and be nice to others.

      Hi there,

I was raised as a christian and my parents still attend church. I don’t really have a religion either as I find it hard to match some of what is taught in most holy books with what I see every day in the labs (such as watching cells, viruses and bacteria evolve with my own eyes).

I do however think that religion has and can teach us a lot about how to live and how to treat others around us and respect those who have a strong faith. I quite enjoy talking to those who do believe as often you’ll find we have many many more similarities than differences.

Many of my fellow scientists are religious. I have a Buddhist, a few muslims and a Jew in my lab!

I am an atheist but like Arthur said, one of the great things about science is you get to work with people from all round the world so you get exposed to all different ideas. In my lab we have Christians, Sikhs. Muslims, Jews and even a pagan!

I’m Hindu, though I’m not always sure I believe in God.
