That’s something a lot of people have struggled with ever since the idea was suggested.

The answer in my opinion is no it doesn’t.

The theory of evolution and the proof we have for the existence of it simply means that the story of creation as told in Genesis and in pretty much every holy book is wrong. The problem is that suggesting that the Bible is wrong upsets a lot of people who think that it is the exact word of God written down.

There’s a lot that science still can’t explain like what happened at the exact moment of the big bang and there are those that believe that a God had a part to play in this but that he didn’t create all the creatures one by one and put them on the earth over 6 days.

      Hi there,
      Interesting question.
I was once at a Royal Geographical Society meeting where Sir David Attenborough was speaking. One of the questions he was asked was very similar to yours.
He thinks, and I agree, that the existence of evolution of species does not preclude an existence of a God. I think the evidence for evolution as a process is overwhelming, but we still can’t explain the moment of the big bang so some people see that as God’s work.

      I don’t think so.

There isn’t any way to prove or rule out the existence of God — there’s only belief. Unless God shows up & let us see Him/Her. 🙂

Science is all about describing how the universe works from the big things to the small things. As we learn more & better, we discard old ideas about how things work.

But as God is not something we can prove or disprove, I think it’s a completely different question. God could have designed evolution to work precisely as scientists have figured out it does!
