It just sounded interesting when I saw the job being advertised, so I went for it.

I have since realised when researching my family history that my ancestor was the first person in the UK to do the job I am doing, so maybe it is fate!

I was looking for a job that was satisfying and rewarding, could help other people. Doing an undergraduate degree in psychology was the start…

I was amazed by how much information you can get from a maggot! They don’t look like much but from them you can estimate a time of death, know if the body was moved after death, know if there were toxins/drugs in the body when they died or whether someone was neglected before they died.

I took a “wild” module in forensics whilst studying for a business degree. From the moment the first lecture started I was hooked, I switched degree programmes and haven’t looked back since! It’s a fascinating field with so many different options.
