      Great question!
Many crime scenes are examined in less than an hour, but the longest i have been involved in has taken months to examine!

I mainly worked at a lab comparing fingerprints.

It is Crime Scene Investigators (CSIs) that regularly attend scenes. They can spend days and even weeks at complex scenes involving very serious crimes.

I attended scenes mainly to offer advice on the collection of fingerprints, and the longest I spent at a scene was 2 days for a murder.

My role was fairly easy. The body had already been sent to the mortuary and lots of the hard work had already been done.

But it was a very responsible job, as there is always a chance that I could miss something or give advice that could negatively impact the investigation.
