• Question: how do you know when a crime scene is active?

      I am not too clear on what you mean. A scene becomes a ‘crime scene’ when there is a belief that a crime may have been committed there. Once that is set in motion, then we protect the scene by placing crime scene tape around the area to limit damage to the scene. All persons entering the scene will be logged by a police officer so that we can account for all movements.

      I’m also not sure what you mean by this. Do you mean how would you know if the suspect was still at the scene, i.e. hiding?
