      Nice question Katy!

Keeping it cool and dry is a good start, and also not opening the bag a lot and leaving it out.

Bread goes mouldy because little fungi eggs, called “spores” are floating all around us, and if they get a chance, they might drop onto the bread and start growing. They like nice warm, moist conditions, so that’s why you should keep your bread nice and cold and dry.

But, don’t put it in the fridge, because that actually makes the bread go stale quicker!

What I like to do, is put my loaf of bread in the freezer, and get a slice or two out and pop it in the toaster to defrost it. Freezing things is a great way to stop them going off!
