• Question: At school, we compared the life cycle assessments of a paper bag and a plastic bag and came to the conclusion that the plastic one had a better life cycle assessment so how are you combatting that in terms of making paper and cardboard packaging to replace plastic?

That’s very interesting, the issue of plastics can be complicated with the main problem being at the moment that single use plastics (such as plastic bags) are difficult to dispose of. If someone has a strong plastic bag that they use for a very long time, this may be a better solution than using lots of paper bags. My work is about trying to make paper and cardboard more useful for food packaging so it can replace some single use plastics.
