I don’t have a crystal ball, although in my office there are a few geologists, and they have lots of crystals on their shelves…
I prefer to look into a telescope rather than a crystal ball – one of the amazing things about astronomy is that everything you see is “in the past”, as the light we see has taken a long time to get to us. Light from stars in our galaxy can take tens of thousands of years to reach Earth, and light from other galaxies is typically tens or hundreds of millions of years old! Even when you see the Sun, that light has taken about 8.3 minutes to travel from the surface of the star to your eyes…
