      Hi,
      in the same way that you could assess the intelligence of any other animal in captivity, but would be difficult to assess wild otters as they are so secretive that they are difficult to observe. There is suprisingly little known about otter behaviour, even something like how far the home range of an otter is, which is why the genomic data will be so useful to us.
