      There are very few insects that I don’t like, but horseflies are definitely at the top of that list! They take they’re name from the fact that they’re known to hang around stables, and they *biteMATOMO_URL They’re still pretty interesting, though. Only the females bite, and this is because they need the extra protein from blood (usually from horses or livestock animals) to produce their eggs! Otherwise, they feed on nectar and pollen from flowers.
