• Question: Which element of the Periodic Table is the hardest to pronounce in your opinion? mine is uuonoctium

      That’s right, uuonoctium is quite hard to pronounce, but many of them are (for me at least). For instance Astatine, I have no idea how to pronounce that. And that’s a funny element, actually it’s present on Earth, but it’s the rarest of all!

    I agree with you, but since being in Edinburgh I’ve been teased about how I pronounce iron! I say eye-un, most Scottish people say eye-run.

    Ununoctium doesn’t exist anymore! It’s now called oganesson, because they’ve done enough to fully confirm its existence and can now give it a proper name. The experiments that they do to discover new elements are insane with the low statistics that they get. They only need a few atoms to hit the detector – they are really confident that there’s virtually no noise in the detectors, so everything they see is the new element!
