      We are featherless bipeds! (actually I don’t know)

      I think it’s belonging to the genus Homo — Homo sapiens are the only living species now, but in the past it included Neanderthals and other more primitive species which evolved into us!

      Yep, Emily has it right! We belong to the genus (a group of closely-related species) Homo, which contains all of the Hominid species, like Neanderthals (Homo neanderthalensis), hobbits (Homo floresiensis), and humans (Homo sapiens). But, it’s important to note that no species evolves *into* another species, we all just share common ancestors with one-another.
