‘Nano’ here just talks about the size of your technology. A nanometre is a million times smaller than a millimetre. Making useful stuff this size is tricky, which is why ‘normal’ technology is everywhere.

Looking at the Wikipedia page on nanotechnology, it contains mostly stuff about research and speculation, so it seems they haven’t been able to get it to work properly yet.

Also I’m not a nanoscientist so be careful with what I say because I don’t know much about it!
