      about 15k ish. There’s no tax on that, and I get an extra 2k ish from teaching undergraduates. I’m at an early stage in my career, you get much more than that once you get a salaried position (I’m still a student, even if it is for a PhD, so I don’t technically have a proper salary. It’s a stipend which gives me enough money to get by while I complete my studies)

      Roughly £33k, but up until this time last year I was a PhD student and was earning approximately the same as Ben.

      Very similar to Ben. Although I won’t get quite as much for teaching this year, because all the labs I teach in have been cancelled!
