At first, I just liked reading science books and watching documentaries. Then I did well at it in school, and I kind of just kept going from there, picking science and physics right up until I applied for PhDs!

I’ve just always been interested in the natural world. Whether that was nature programs on TV, going on walks with my grandad – who used to know all the names of every plant we walked past, or reading about dinosaurs when I was younger. I ended up doing a biology degree because I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted to do, and then I started learning about ecology, zoology, and conservation, and haven’t looked back!
