Hey 🙂 so my favourite thing about science is that sometimes, very occasionally, you get to see or find out something about the world that *no-one* has ever seen or found out about before. And when that happens it is the best feeling on Earth! It also helps keep you humble, because science is more about realising what you don’t know than about what you do know…
And I decided that I wanted to be a scientist when I was very young – I’ve always been interested in how things work and why. Especially animals. I used to watch lots of nature programs (and I still do) to find out why animals looked and behaved the way they did all over the world (actually, some information from a David Attenborough TV show helped me pass a university exam). But, if I’m honest, it was Jurassic Park that started it all off. I was obsessed with dinosaurs for years after watching that!
