      Sometimes, yes! Sometimes something that I can’t work out turns out to be something easy, or a silly mistake that I’ve made that can make me look silly when I present it to my supervisor. It’s easy to be embarrassed, but everyone does stuff like that so I just have to keep going and the embarrassing moments become further and further apart.

      I was once recording insects on a small, uninhabited islet in Greece. I was walking along a cliff, got tangled in some plants while chasing after a really cool-looking butterfly that I hadn’t seen before, and promptly fell off of the cliff. Thankfully it was a short drop and I bounced pretty well…
