Question: Hello Ben,
if you could name your own part of the atom what would it be and where would it be placed. Would it be placed in the nucleus with the protons and neutrons,or in the electron shell Maybe even further than that.
Trouble is that we think (of course this might change) we’ve already seen every particle in an atom, and it’s all been named already!
I’ll be greedy and say the whole thing. We think there are still more elements to be found, and it’s the nuclear physicists that will find them. There may even be some that actually last quite a long time, in what is called the ‘island of stability’).
My old chemistry teacher wanted an element named after him, so if I were to name an element I’d call it DaveWrightium!
