      During university, I made these fluorescent cyanine dyes for my final year project. If I were to conduct one experiment, I would use these dyes and see if it can be used to inhibit the growth of antimicrobials. This means to use the dyes to stop the growth of nasty microorganisms from enlarging – the dyes can also be used in the human body to stop cancerous cells growing too! This would be very useful because it could help save so many lives.
