The person who has inspired me the most in my science was my physics teacher at college. He was massively enthusiastic about everything, and you could see that he thought everythuign he was teaching was interesting and wonderful. That mentality rubbed off onto me.
The person that has inspired me most is Thomas Huxley, who you can read about in another answer: /evolutionj11-zone/2011/06/who-waswereis-your-inspiring-people
Right now I am inspired by the guys who wrote the book “Freakonomics”. This book shows how really interesting social phenomena can be summarized and interpreted using statistics, and I love stats. For example, they showed that your first name can make a big impact on your success in life because people tend to be prejudiced against certain first names to the point of not employing you!
