      Green.

I have heard that the human eye is designed by evolution to distinguish more shades of green than any other colour, so we can see well in the grassland and forest environments in which humans evolved.

My favourite colour has to be green, I think. Although there is a chemical I use which is a very faint shade of blue, you can just about see it when you look through it and I think that is very nice.

Red. One theory for why humans evolved to be able to see red light is that it meant our evolutionary ancestors could tell when fruit was ripe.
