I use chemicals that can be found in space, for example formaldehyde, and also chemicals that can be found in meteorites, such as phosphinic acid and pyruvic acid.
After the Big Bang there was lots of meteorites flying round and there were a lot that hit Earth. It has been estimated that 180000000000000000000kg of meteorite hit the Earth during this time, that’s about 30000000000000000 double decker buses! So scientists believe this is where a lot of the chemicals came from that make up our biology.
