It certainly is a problem, and it can be very bad for people’s health. I read somewhere that in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 2010, pollution killed more people than the war in that country.

It is a massive problem both for us and for other life on the planet. I think that we need a massive change in attitude on how we deal with pollution and we need to find cleaner ways to do pretty much everything. Sadly I don’t think things will change much whilst we live in a profit driven society, because everything is about making maximum money, and being clean and not polluting tends to be more expensive.

I agree with the others, pollution is not real great. And I share Stevens pessimism – it is very hard to get people to change. The problem is that people think “If I don’t do it, someone else will”. That kind of thinking is a vicious cycle.

Pollution is basically anything in the environment that we don’t want – this can be chemicals, smoke, noise, or ugly things. So it is in everyone’s interest to get rid of pollution as much as possible.

The best ways to do this are to use as little as possible (travel as little as you can, buy as little as you can etc.), reuse wherever possible and recycle what you have to throw away. i think we should all become a lot less materialistic and stop buying things we don’t need.
