In our solar system the most fascinating thing is that there is a planet with life on it! There is no evidence at the moment about this happening anywhere else – amazing!!!

I find the way scientist look at other planets and how they look for life the most interesting. I also find it fascinating how big the Universe is. I find it very difficult to comprehend how large the universe is!

There is lots I find fascinating about the solar system. I think the most fascinating things I find about the solar system are Venus and Uranus. Venus has a day that is longer than its year – and it spins the wrong way. All the other planets spin west to east, but Venus spins from east to west, and no-one knows why.

Uranus is interesting because it is tilted onto its side, so for half the time it takes to go around the sun the north pole faces the sun, the other half the south pole faces the sun. The only way this could have happened was for a planet the size of the earth to crash into Uranus. Imagine witnessing that!

I agree with Katie – I find most interesting that the solar system contains the earth. It’s such a tiny chance that this could happen, and here we are, in some tiny solar system, chatting online. It boggles my mind that this all happened!

I think the most interesting things is the possibility is that there is life elsewhere than earth. Some scientists think that there might be life on one of Saturn’s or Jupiter’s moons, most probably in the form of some kind of bacteria-like things, although they haven’t found any yet. But is would be very cool if they did. Then we would know that we weren’t alone in the universe.

I agree with Katie and Vera – I think that the most fascinating thing is the evolution of life that has occurred on Earth!
