Question: This question wasn't answered on the chat. So if world war two was so bad, would we actaully be fighting with sticks and stones in world war 4.
You mean, because we realized that using guns and bombs and all that are just a bit too destructive? I fear not. People (or rather, governments) really do pull out all the stops they can in order to win a war. So the only reason why we would be fighting with sticks and stones in world war 4 is because for some reason (WW3?) we lost our ability to make terrible weapons.
I very much doubt that there will be another world war in any case. Because we now have nuclear weapons, they act pretty much as a deterrent to stop big nations attacking each other.
“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”
He means that the weapons World War III will be fought with will be so destructive that they will wipe out civilisation and take people back to the stone age. It’s a good quote. But I think it very unlikely there will be another World War – more likely there will just be lots of what George Orwell (I think) called “dirty little wars”, much like what happens at the moment.
