• Question: is their a such thing as true love ?

      I think so yes, but that is something that different people will have different views on. I definitely think that two people can be in love forever though.

      Hmm, this is of course my non-scientific personal opinion but from personal experience I think that there really is such a thing.

      Awww, a lovely question! I believe in true love. I also believe there is someone for everyone, you just have to be patient!

      I suppose it depends on what you mean by true love, but I certainly love my wife and son, and it feels pretty true for me.

      But as a scientist, I also believe that we can explain love in terms of electricity and chemicals in the brain, and as a adaptation designed by evolution to help us pass on our genes to future generations. THat doesn’t mean it’s not true though.

      I think there is such a thing as true love, but all science can say is what Ed said, that the emotion “love” is some state of electricity and chemicals in the brain, and has come about due to evolution because it maximises the chances of passing on genes. But this doesn’t really tell us about the experience of being in love. For that you need poetry, or literature, or art.
