Hi monica24, that’s a difficult question to answer. I personally do not believe in God, and so I don’t believe that Jesus created us. In fact many Christians (including the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury) have indicated that they think that they do not have a problem with the theory of evolution. Some other Christians however, do not believe in evolution. This strikes me as very strange, because it’s like not believing in gravity: evolution is an accepted scientific theory.
As for the big bang, I am not a physicist so I don’t know much about it, but from what little I understand, Christian physicists are happy to believe that the big bang occurred, but perhaps that God made it occur.
I hope I have answered your question: as I said this is difficult for me because I am an atheist.
Well, the view that Jesus, or God, created the world is rather a contraversial one when it comes to science! Personally I do not believe in a creator, but I know a lot of people do.
The Big Bang is the idea that the universe was created in a giant explosion about 14 billion years ago. That means everything weas created, including space and time! However, currently noone quite understands what made the Big Bang actually happen, so this is where some people have suggested that perhaps it was God who started the Big Bang.
Personally, I do not believe this, but it shows that science and religion aren’t always as incompatable as they can first seem!
Wow, you could write several books about this question!
Some scientists are religious, some are not. Personally, I am a Christian, so I believe that God created the universe via the big bang billions of years ago. Jesus came along about 2000 years ago, but some believe that he was around back at the start as well.
But we don’t know this for sure. You have to have faith to believe it.
