      Yes, as you may know for yourself. The type of person we are attraced to depends on our genes, and the culture in which are brought up in. I can give you an interesting example. Many animals, including humans, find the smell of some attractive, and of some others unattractive. The smells they like are from individuals with certain genes which mean their children will have strong immune systems for fighting disease. So by choosing a partner, they are actually choosing a candidate with genes that will mix well with their own.
