Other than some people eat more than they should and some people don’t, I think genetics also have a lot to do with it. Some people’s metabolism work faster than others, some people’s body absorb fat better than others or some can degrade sugar better. So really, it depends. Either way you should have a healthy diet. I live in America and it is really scary in here! 60% of the society is obese, all of that can’t be a genetic disease I say.
Some people are genetically more likely to retain more fat cells in their body. Also some people might not metabolise food as quickly as others and some people don’t burn enough excess calories to stay slim. Best things to do for a healthy body are eat good, yummy food- not too much junk and exercise a bit. Simples. 🙂
Basically, we all have the potential to get fat…some more than others due to physiological and psychological differences, but the bottom line is due to our evolutionary past. We evolved in an environment when food was hard to find, and those who had a taste for high calorie foods would have been more successful. So, we have all inherited a taste for fats and sugars. In our current environment, however, these foods are plentiful, so people find it hard not to over eat!
