As I understand it, monovision is a way to help long-sighted people (y9u usually get this way as you get older). By using glasses or contact lenses one eye i made to see well at short distances and the other is used for long distance vision. I’m not quite sure why you would want to do that. I normally have no problems seeing anything at reasonable distances and use glasses to read small print (but right now am typing happily ìon my laptop without) or do fine work close up of any sort.
I did learn to use a simple microscope when at school and we were encouraged to look with one eye and use the other at the same time to draw what we could see. Then the effect was a bit like what I described above.
Quite how many people actually use this solution is anyone’s guess – ask an optician.
No idea – people can have laser surgery to become mono visioned, and a lot of people wear mono-vision glasses. I don’t know about many people naturally being mono visioned though!
