• Question: Do you think in the future we will be able to bring people back from the dead using scientific technology?

      I don’t think so, as the proteins in your cells start to deteriorate really really quickly, so unless the machine was turned on at the moment of death then I don’t think it’d ever be possible. Happy to be proved wrong though…

      No I don’t think so. I agree with Alex – as soon as you die your body starts to decompose, so I don’t think there would be any way to bring a partially decomposed body back to life!

      It depends a little on what you mean by “dead”.
      Someone who has just technically died (i.e. their heart stopped beating) can be kept alive artificially with machines.
      If they’ve been dead for a while then all sorts of irreversible things happen and that’s it.
      Then, of course, there’s the centuries old question of the soul: when does it die? If you’re a believer then it doesn’t but it does leave the body – if you’re not (like me) then it just dies too.
