wow! I had to think about that. I’ve been doing quite a lot of work on the underwater seasons. So, underwater, plants and animals grow and breed at particular times of year (just like on dry land). I did some research (with a team of other people) that showed that these seasonal events are happening earlier now than they used to. So, because of climate change, some fish spawn earlier than they used to, and plankton grow earlier than they used to. We are now trying to understand what effects that might have.
My job is to look for protected species and habitats which is lots of fun! My two favourites are honey buzzard nests as they are so difficult to find, and also pine marten dens too. Both are very well hidden, and those species are very secretive so to find places they breed was very exciting for me. I have since been able to put cameras on the nests and den to capture fantastic photos and videos of behaviour never seen before!
