      Hello,
All of the species are very much dependent on each other . We are all a part of a food chain – therefore we couldn’t survive without the other animals. We also rely on plants which produce oxygen for us.

Maybe you heard in the news that bees are said to be endangered species? Lots of people say this puts all other species at risk. People say that without bees there will be no insect to pollinate plants (scientists estimate that bees pollinate 1/3 of our food!) Think about it- just one little insect and it can cause damaging effect on so many other animals and plants. How complex is that!

Well humans are animals too, and have evovled alongside other species. So if animals are going extinct that could include humans too. But again with evolution and the survival of the fittest I dont think all animals will become extinct.

I think even in the very extreme case that you are imagining (a planet so damaged by global warming that survival has become difficult) certain species would adapt with us.
The speed at which some animals have adapted to meet new challenges has already amazed scientists. Raccoons are a good example- they have moved into cities to take advantage of urban living and are thriving despite a decline in their natural habitat.

Let’s hope it never gets to that point!
