This is a topic for a possible intense debate… Watch out;)

So to start with, we can already notice that humans and animals have different lifestyles, e.g. animals don’t go to school or don’t earn money. So for example “right for education” or “no gender gap in wages” doesn’t really apply to them…

I guess we can talk about right for non-suffering? Lots of people who are vegan/vegetarian argue that animals shouldn’t need to suffer for the sake of our food. But then again the argument is that animals eat other animals in nature anyway…

My personal take on that is that I do eat meat but cut down and try to make sure I know where it comes from (.e.g no caged chickens). Morality is a very interesting field to debate but lots of it will be ultimately based on people’s habits and opinions. If you’re looking for an interesting talk from someone who is quite big on animal rights, read about Peter Singer:)

As Ola has said this is an intense debate.

The difference between humans and animals can be very obvious, but in certain cases where this line is blurred there are seperate rights to be considered.

Those who work with animals in any capacity have training in ethics to help them deal with their situations.

I am really passionate about animal rights. Personally I don’t eat meat and avoid milk and eggs where I can as well. I believe that animals should have a lot more rights than they do now and should certainty never be killed or made to suffer unnecessarily.
