I’d like to think so, yes.
Being a scientist feels good, because even though they are usually quite small and not that important to most people, you are always finding out new things. When I make a new compound, I know I am the first person in the world to ever make it. We write papers about what we find out so that other scientists can make these things too. So even if individually, my work isn’t going to massively change the world, I like to think that I am playing a small part in solving the problems associated with nuclear waste.
