Question: Is your job fun and is it rewarding when you accomplish something that could potentially make a difference in the world?

It can be fun, it’s great to be always improving my understanding of my research area and working out how that can be applied to what I’m trying to do. It can also be really frustrating if I’m not getting the results I expect from my calculations and I can’t work out why, but then getting through that to find the answers is satisfying and yes, rewarding. 🙂 Being able to potentially make a difference in the world is one of the reasons I picked the area of research that I did.

Not always ‘Fun’! but satisfying when we solve a problem. The most rewarding part is seeing a potential problem and stopping it from happening.
