Question: I forgot what you said in the chat about nuclear fusion being able to meat demands of energy that raise very very quickly, for instance in the break of the world cup when lots of people go to make a cup of tea or another hot drink and they all use the kettle at the same time?

  Hi. Fusion is a great energy source to do this.. it’s much better than renewables which are at the mercy of the wind or how sunny it is. In theory, by turning the temperature of the fusion reactor up or down, you could vary the output. Obviously there are technological advances we need to make to do this but it is certainly seen as being feasible.
  
  Obviously you can also do this with nuclear fission but you have waste and safety problems.
