There are already lots of treatments for cancer, like surgery and chemotherapy, which means that lots of people who have cancer do get cured. The problem is that these cures aren’t 100% effective and also they can be very unpleasant – chemotherapy can make people very sick, make their hair fall out, all kinds of horrible things, and nobody likes having big operations!
So, the question is will we ever find a really 100% cure for cancer that means people don’t have to worry. I’m sure that is what we are working towards but it will be a very slow process by which the medicines get very slightly better everytime. Whether it will ever be perfect? Who knows! I sure hope so.
I agree with the previous two answers. There is so much resources and research that is devoted to understanding cancer, the causes, the way it develops, etc… that it’s just a matter of time before we can completely cure all cancers, or maybe even make sure they never develop in the first place!
But, even today, it’s already possible to cure some cancers, and it has been possible for many years! When I was just 2 years old, my dad got colon cancer, and he was completely cured with a surgery and chemotherapy.
