absolutely 🙂 ageing occurs due to degeneration of cells, so if we can slow that degeneration, that would slow down ageing.

Also, if we can improve the cell’s ability to repair itself, that would also increase life expectancy

This has already happened and keeps on happening! Not so long ago people thought that smoking was fine and didn’t do any harm, but then scientific studies showed that smoking was really bad for you. Not only can it cause cancer (which can shorten your life dramatically!) it also causes you to age faster in general. It’s just the same that until recently, we didn’t understand that you need to eat a balanced diet in order to be healthy and live longer. There are lots of small discoveries made every day in things like this. Maybe they don’t make much of a change individually, but summing up all the small changes can make a big change!

Yes, definitely. Thanks to modern medicine, antibiotics, vaccination, better health care, better nutrition, better sanitation and hygiene development, life expectancy has greatly increased in the past 200 years.
Progress of medicine are not about to stop. Apparently the first person to like 150 years old was born few years ago, and I’ve seen claims in the news that the first person to live 1000 years will be born in the next 20 years.
