      Hi guys!

I’d have to say that experimenting is my favourite thing about science, although it’s really exciting sometimes to step back and see the bigger picture of the work that you’re doing, and knowing that somehow you’re contributing to science in some way. We’re really lucky people in this job!

I think the best thing about working in science is being in a culture were no one is afraid to say “I don’t know – but I’m going to find out.” Scientists don’t know everything, but know that we don’t know everything and try to find answers. After years of taking exams were you need to know that right answers its a weird feeling to stand up in front of people and say you don’t know the answer – but that you’re working on it 🙂

      Hey there,
Yeah looking at the bigger picture is great, thinking “how does my work fit into the cure for heart disease!” or “How does it affect the person in the street”. I’m a scientist has differently made me think about that! My favourite thing about science is when an experiment works. You can spend long hours and days working on an experiment. Putting all your energy in to it, hoping for an answer then……..bam it’s worked and it proves that this is true or false. Those kind of experiments are, however a little far and few between, but are great when they come.

I really agree with Will. The best thing a scientist can say is “I really don’t know” (and then go out and do something about it). If we’re honest about what we do and don’t know, we can all ask better questions about the world and go further.

Finding the big computer model has the right answer!!! The worst thing is running the big computer model for ten days and finding it had a bug 🙁
