• Question: If you could invent one thing yourself what would it be, what would it do, what would it be used for and why?

      Oooh, good question. I’m not sure about a cool invention but…

      In our lab we have these things called stirrer hotplates which stir your reaction using a magnet and they can keep it at a very specific temperature. I would quite like to make an oven for my kitchen with something similar – I think it would be nice to be able to keep my soup warming and stirring in the kitchen whilst I’m watching TV.

      I would invent something that reacts with CO2 from the atmosphere and reacts it into something useful. It would really help with global warming!

      Ohh! Interesting question! I don’t know that I would invent anything rather than just overhauling and perfecting current things like renewable energies and public transport systems! We could reduce carbon emissions so much if we were making the most of the things we already have available to us! In the UK our public transport is so unappealing that it’s seen as almost a punishment to actually use it! Places like Japan have such fast, efficient, clean and eco friendly public transport that cars are much less common!
