• Question: Has any scientists ever encountered the black hole?

      Quite recently astronomers did take the first ever picture of a black hole. It doesn’t look especially impressive at first glance, but there’s a video from Veritasium on YouTube which gives a great explanation on what it is and why it’s much more interesting than you might think

      Whilst we’ve not gone near one, as Jesse said a team has recently developed the first image of one!

      Not up close. I think the nearest black hole to Earth is thousands of light years away. The research to take the first image of a black hole is really cool though, and definitely worth looking at!
