Why are black holes invisible?

@JJ They’re invisible because their gravity is soooo strong that it’s pulling EVERYTHING into it – even light!

Because the force of gravity is so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape from a black hole. However we can work out that they’re there, because of their effects on the things we can see.
