• Question: Have you ever heard of the trolley problem? If you were driving a train and there were 3 people on a split off and A family member on the straight ahead, would you A-Move and hit three people or B-Do nothing and hit a family member?

      I do know the trolly problem. It’s a tough one but I would probably save my family member. Though I honestly don’t know unless I was put in that situation.

      Scientifically I would kill the few to save the many. But it’s not a science problem.

      I hadn’t heard of the trolley problem before. I think it’s impossible to say what I’d do without actually being put in the situation for real. Which hopefully I never will be…

      What’s interesting about the trolley problem, is that you can keep adding to it and changing it slightly, to make the questions even harder.
      .
      What if you don’t know any of the people at all? What if then it’s 1 baby and 3 older people? What if you could de-rail the train, but then probably kill everyone on the train instead?
      .
      It makes for a very interesting debate… and it’s hard to figure out the answers.
