      Hi delta1,

Cancer is a group of deadly disease, with over 200 different types and more types are being identified. Cancers have many different types because they are all quite different to each other e.g. different proteins made or have different mutations!
There are roughly 6 million new cases each year all over the world!
Cancer is the second leading cause of death in America.

Each year there are about 285, 000 people who are diagnosed with cancer in the UK – Wembley stadium can have 90,000 seated fans!
So that means there are more than 3 stadium full of people who are diagnosed with cancer per year in the UK!
The most common cancers are breast, colorectal, lung, stomach and prostate. There are good tests and treatments available for breast and prostate cancers so death from these cancers can be prevented so most people die from lung, stomach, liver and colorectal cancers.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you want to know anything else!
